February Campout

We had a great campout at the end of February.  For the first time in a while, each of the boys was responsible for planning and cooking his own food.  Only a few food flops, a lot of creativity, a significant amount of BACON were present.

We finished up the campout with a 4 mile hike up to the top of the ridge.  It was a killer but we all survived!

It rained most of the night Friday, so putting up tents was a trick.  The boys did great, though.

Because of the rain, we needed a little help tieing a rope high on a tree for our rain fly.  Jacob W was perfect for this.  Thanks, buddy!

Lyle made hard-boiled eggs for breakfast.  The water never quite boiled, but the eggs were perfectly done after about 45 minutes!
Jacob Williams planned a lavish breakfast with French Toast and bacon.  Unfortunately, the french toast had a few issues, so they resorted to bacon.  A few of us shared our bounty with Jacob and his friend Nick so they wouldn't go hungry...
